A few thoughts

Sorry about the long gaps, having teams out means we are quite busy and when we get some spare time we just chill. It hasn't been to demanding one of the old 24-7ibiza team had raised some concerns that we were over stretching ourselves but the reality of us living here with a house, pool and normal everyday life makes looking after teams so much easier, we all have a basic grasp of Spanish, our own cars and a reasonable amount of contacts. Sp team leading although hectic isn't hard. In reality leading a church in the UK is harder.

So far we have been able to belss over a hundred people here are a few of their prayers:

Bradley is up to his eyes in debt and his parents house is guarantor, he's going home to face the possibility of a 3-month jail term for it. He also believes his ex-girlfriend put a hex on him! (Brad offered to put us on the guest list for Judge Jules at Eden but it was too late notice and we couldn't go, don't really like Eden that much but it was very kind of him)

Tom and Danny are two PR's that we have built relationships with, they always stop and talk to us and are really interested in God and happy to have us pray for them.

Ian's 14 year old sister was murdered 4 years ago and the whole family are finding it really difficult to cope with. He also needs a decent job. He, understandably in his circumstances, finds it hard to get his head round why bad things happen to good people.

We have an anonymous prayer saying 'Dear God, please let me hear you when I get home'.

An African guy called TutTut wants to stop hearing the voices in his head

Connor's girlfriend is having a baby in October, his mum died recently and his mate Paddy just got diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Simba's dad died two years ago and he worries about his mum who isn't dealing with it very well.

These are the stories of everyday life they happen everywhere and I can't help but ask myself why I didn't go out more like this in the UK!

Was I to busy in meetings and sustaining my busy "christian" calender, hanging out with christians, having meetings about meetings....

I don't know but surely this must have been wrong?

Kirk here, praying with and for you nearly everyday (the canadian watching your back in vancouver)...

I was just reading Henri Nouwen's book "Here and Now". I like what he says:

How is it possible to keep caring for the poor when the poor only get poorer? How is it possible to keep nursing the sick when they are not getting better? How can I keep consoling the dying when their deaths only bring me more grief? The answer is that they all hold a blessing for me, a blessing that I need to receive. Ministry is, first of all, receiving God's blessing from those to whom we minister. What is this blessing? It is a glimpse of the face of God. Seeing God is what heaven is all about! We can see God in the face of Jesus, and we can see the face of Jesus in all those who need our care.
