Risk

There was once a survey done of 90 year olds, asking to list 3 things they wished they had done differently. Risk more, Reflect more, and leave something that outlives them.

Leaving something that outlives you can be done with children, but probably a book or even a blog, what will our children think when they read this stuff when they are old: I like that thought, there is other stuff we could leave not sure what? Money? Double glazing? A new conservatory?

Anyway Risk more, I think Rachel and anonymous summed it up the word "if" is powerful. I guess in the end when we moved here it would have been harder to live with not going than going. I couldn’t face looking back and thinking “what if?”

Reflect more, need to stop more and enjoy life. Sometimes I think we can be waiting for life to happen when it is happening all the time. Sometimes we need to sit back and enjoy, reflect, take a Sabbath. A few years ago we were working on our house when we were left some money, we could have poured it into the house it wasn’t loads but it would have helped. Instead we decided to take the kids for two weeks to Cuba, you know it was one of the best things we did. It gave us time to reflect on family and life. We thought our kids would never remember the 3 new windows we could have installed but they will remember the holiday. Creating memories, that’s one of the keys to parenting. Sorry wandering from reflecting, but hope you get my point.

Risk more, what’s the worst that could happen? Maybe you have to humble yourself and say you got it wrong, but at least you had the cojones to give it a go.

Go on risk it!

Would it be wrong if I printed this out and used it to motivate me in the bedroom?

Yep, Tracy is away until Friday. Some wierd comments on here! It's amazing how a pretty young lady in a gorgeous car can distract from the deep text below! I have also noticed it is only men commenting, although who are you HP Kendall? I kind of hope you are a man, but you probably also need a little help
