Tracy and Ben had a great night out in the westend, read the full story on Ben and Becky's Blog. Basically; it involved a great conversation with a worker, some time in a night club sorting out a teenage argument, helping a guy to hospital who had been sprayed with CS gas, standing around praying out side a club where a transvestite had been badly cut in the face with a bottle, talking to some workers and giving a Czech girl a lift home!
Tomorrow we open our Internet drop in and we are still waiting for the bibles, they need to come today or tomorrow morning, so that we can give them to all our visitors!
Thanks for all the books keep them coming, we hope that the library proves to be really helpful.
I’ve had another thought, what about a Playstation and a plasma screen? People would hang out for ages.
We are really looking forward to the week ahead, last week felt like we really turned a corner with our identity in the west end. Bar owners have remembered us, given us free tickets to events and generally people are really appreciative of what we are doing.
My piles are much better, thanks for all the advice, I think I probably need to look at my diet and might stop reading on the toilet!
Talking of reading on the toilet my book of the week is Dallas Willard’s The Spirit of the Disciplines
a quote “the word ‘disciple’ occurs 269 times in the New Testament. ‘Christian’ is found 3 times and was first introduced to refer precisely to the disciples….. the New Testament is a book about disciples, by disciples and for disciples of Jesus Christ”
It’s a little heavy going as a book, but I am enjoying digging into it.
