Ride the current

"Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity,
to seize everything you ever wanted,
one moment,
would you capture it,
or just let it slip?"

Eminem: Lose Yourself

There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted all the voyages of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

Shakespeare: Julius Caesar, Act 4 scene 3,

I get a feeling that for many people a time of decision is coming. There's got to be a point where talk becomes action. Where dreams start to be fulfilled by people who are willing to walk into them a step at a time. The thoughts and feelings that have been bouncing around at the back of our minds are moving to the fore. We need to find ways to physically articulate our dreams and desires.

There is a current flowing at the moment, a current of change and opportunity. There is a current flowing that is full of fresh dreams and adventure. There is a current that is flowing towards new communities, new locations, new expressions and new ways of being.

We must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.

That totally sums up the conclusion God has been bringing me to - calling me to be a person of action - and to start living out the dreams on my heart.

So your blog fully encouraged me in this - thanks!

I'm confused :(

Is something about to happen?

I agree. There seems to be a stirring within the church to rise up and be the people of God and do whatever He asks or not. God is still looking for people of faith to do great exploits, preach the word and bring in a harvest but He needs His people to respond or get out of the way. I choose to do what He wants. The Kingdom of God will be seen in the earth!

Hannah it was post for the church people I know I think there is a younger generation of christians who are barely surviving church they have all these dreams about doing it differently i was just encouraging people to take a risk and step into there dreams rather than ending up in some form of dreary christian existence, i get a sense that in the church world there is a ground swell for change i just worry that people will step back and be swallowed up by the institution of church without ever truly engaging with there passion for doing it differently. So if there is a mood for change out there and a group of people who want to do it differently they need to act and not just talk about it, hope that clears up the confusion ;)
