pears

We harvested about 300 pears today and about 200 onions. The next question is what am I going to do with them? We'll give as many pears away as possible, but I am wondering how easy it would be to make pear brandy???

The onions will be easier, we can freeze, pickle and store them.

We have our 3rd team of 9 people with us and tonight is their first night out on the street, hope it goes well for them.

I was out last night with Christine, we got a call at about 2am, ended up getting back at about 5am. This isn't a great story but on one level I have to tell you our failures, well maybe not even failures, just tough ones. We met this guy he had fallen asleep in a bar and the owners had phoned us to come and help him home, they where really helpful giving him water etc.. but he wouldn't go, he just kept telling us to "f**k off" but we couldn't because his wallet kept falling out of his pocket and he was going to get robbed. We kept tucking it back in and eventually made it secure but we then saw another guy who had been punched in the face in a bar and the shock of it had caused him to vomit. We left the f**k off guy sitting by a wall and went to help this young lad. he could only have been 17 and his mate was completely sober. We got them home to their hotel ok, just gets to me sometimes when these guys are only about 4 years older than my son. What a great night out a fat lip and shirt covered in puke!!! We went back to find the other guy but he had gone......

The farm is such a lovely respite from the madness and we are so blessed to be here. The evening breezes are a life saver.
