Goodbye

One of the wierdest things about living here is the amount of times we have to say goodbye to people. We have an extraordinary amount of visitors, which we really love, but what we have decided as a family is that we hate goodbyes. I don't know if it's because we live to far away from our visitors and we feel a sense of abandonment, actually probably not! thats far to heavy and sounds like I need to get on a couch and vulnerabate with someone.

Maybe it's just the distance, as most times we say goodbye people proceed to get on a plane, or maybe it's some deep inner homesickness or some shallow homesickness that surfaces easy.

I find I like a quick goodbye, if it's a long one I will probably get emotional. Not that I am frightened of a few tears or showing a bit of emotion, I just can't be doing with it al the time.

Anyway we will have had to say goodbye three times this week, and enoughs enough. The next person who comes to stay we are going to force to stay here permanently.

The things is we love the the visitors. When people actually come and stay with you you tend to have quality time rather than the usual time that you get if they just popped around for meal one night! So the fantastic times we have with visitors is worth the short burst of sadness we feel when they leave.

Pleasure and pain.

Hi
Um, is it OK if my wife doesn't stay when she visits you and Tracy in June. I'd kinda like to see her again afterwards....

Karen I think in many ways we are all guarded, I like the idea of an uguarded heart but we all have to protect ourselves a little. Em,otions are good but we can't keep putting ourselves through the mill every time we feel vulnerable there are time to protect the heart. I don't necessaril;y think it is wrong to have strategies for this.
