It's 3.01am I have just got in from a very quiet night on the westend. It was pleasant and we had a good chance to talk with loads of workers and explain what we are up to.

The room has been getting some use and it is going well, we can sense that it will build up. After my initial paranoia people are drifting in, using the computers playing on the wii and visiting the prayer room.

No drunks to pick up yet! It all feels very sedate, which is good. We generally prefer it if we have a quiet night. The mad ones provide good stories, but it's not all about the stories.

I guess we feel more under pressure when we have teams out, most of them come expecting a bit of action and generally it happens. You almost feel this pressure to deliver, it's only a pressure that I create in my own head I need to deal with it. Really if you walk around praying for a peaceful and chilled out time you shouldn't be disappointed when it happens. There are many people here in Ibiza who don't like the westend, or maybe don't like is to strong. I think they rightly feel it is given to much profile and provides to much bad press. It's one square mile out of 200 square miles, Ibiza is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I actually love the westend, I enjoy the life and the banter that happens there, I think it is full of some great people who are just trying to earn a living and some fun for the summer.

One of our guys talked with some soldiers tonight, they can be tough cookies, especially if they have served in a war zone, they have seen the darkest sides of human nature and this can sometimes lead them to question the existence of God. It's a tough call to have a sensitive conversation with them, but Dave did great.

We just have to remember that in all our dealings with people here, we are blessing not selling. People on the street respond to kindness not preaching. It still surprises me how many people are willing to talk with us about spiritual things, i suppose this is because they can see the spirit in which we come. It's almost like they pick up the blessing vibe and this helps them to relax with us.

It's the football tomorrow night, I can't wait, Come on Man Utd, lets hope the Lord is on their side...

Anyway I am rambling now, I have been up since 7am yesterday so I need to get some sleep........

you are so right, it is totally about blessing and not selling so much about kindness and not preaching. i was in the belfast city prayer room recently and most impressed with a quote on the wall there... basically it said something like... kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting...from saint theresa of callcuta 1910-1997. made me think and made me smile :)
