You won't be dancing like this in hell!

dancing jesus Pictures, Images and Photos

Had an interesting comment on my blog today from an old post I wrote about christian clubbing here it is:

"Great ANother Blog post giving young christians a great excuse to go clubbing, i guess what you talk about and waht you think about most really just shows the deepest desires of your heart. Im not saying christians CANT go clubbing, but what i am saying is theres far much more greater things in store with Gods plan for your life.

Romans 13:14 (ESV) - But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh
Eph 5:3 - But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.

Now i think theres more than a hint of sexual immorality in clubs... Lets not be deceived and fool ourselves. Why are we drinking piss water from the toilet when Jesus promised us A well of water flowing into eternal life in him... We can be great evangelists outside of the evil world systems which are controlled by Satan:

Hebrews 12:2 "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus" some of us cant get passed worshipping the DJ and the music... "

Thank you for your contribution to the debate anonymous. I must admit I can see were you are coming from but I totally disagree with you. Why was Jesus accused of being a "drunkard and a glutton"? Was it the company he kept, the places he went, the people he was seen with, I think so.

I want to write more but I haven't got the energy, only to say really if you have had a bad experience with clubbing yourself, please don't make us all pay by trying to tell us to stay out of the darkness or the light.

God is with us, He will go where we go and I am pretty sure Jesus would have loved clubbing. I can picture him now glow stick in hand, arms raised high grinding his body to some cool beats and giving it all up to God the creator who made life to be celebrated and music to be danced to.

I appreciate your comments on this debate...it is a sticky issue, I used to be at a church where even thinking of going near a club was pretty much considered a sin. And I could appreciate their reasoning...dealing with a lot of young people in a binge drinking culture, they reasoned that "in a grey world, its just easier to make some things black and white" and "live a life above reproach".
But I've since come to see that this often leads to two different worlds, the "Holy" one and the world...and they never meet.
while backpacking in central america, i got over this 'fear' of clus and discovered that the people that are searching...wanting to talk about God, or just needing a friend...are hanging out in the nightspots...that's where you have the best convos, where you connect with people, and like you said I reckon it's where you'd find Jesus.
Anyway long comment sorry, appreciate your posts on this. and the work you do. :)

When it comes down to it, I think Jesus is more likely to ask us why we didn't go somewhere, rather than why we did.

Brian,Im so happy about this comment as most people think like this, especially non christians,if they know your a christian or follower of jesus they immediately say what are you doing here,I do a clubbing ministry at home here in ireland and get judged quite alot but i am more than 100% sure that God has come with us and even on nites we havent even planned to talk to people about him they bring it up,more times we hav just gone out for fun and God shows up in a massive massive way,its so amazing the people that actyally need you at that exact appointed time.

We were told to be the light in the darkness, not outside it.

obviously if christians are going clubbing for the wrong motives to fill a desire that is unhealthy then God will be deeply grieved but if they are spreading his love and strong enough to stay away from the act of sin in the clubs and be a fighter in prayer and love to eliminate or transform some young person who may hav got entangled in that sin.

I could go on as i feel so passionate about this, jesus sat with publican and sinners and taught them on their level not as a looker on who preached,,,he just chatted and helped them.

jesus with a glow stick!!LOVE IT!! i hav been praying long and hard about coming over to help you guys and have had 3 diff clues so far from God.

Il email you now,,,,

Esther (i met you 2yrs ago at lisburn when you came over to do a talk)
